The noble grey giant
The Roan Antelope is one of Africa's largest and most striking antelope. Its grey-brown coat, black-and-white face and impressive curved horns give it an unmistakable appearance.
A mature bull stands around 4½–5 feet at the shoulder and can weigh 500–600 lbs.
Hunting the Roan
Roan are powerful, wary animals that can cover surprising distances when disturbed. Finding a mature bull and getting close enough for a clean shot requires patience and excellent fieldcraft.
A mature roan is one of the most impressive trophies of the African plains.
