The little antelope of the rocks
The Klipspringer is one of Africa's most specialized antelope. Standing only around 20 inches at the shoulder, it is perfectly designed for life among steep rocky outcrops.
Adults weigh approximately 20–30 lbs. Instead of a conventional hoof, the klipspringer walks on the tips of its tiny, rubbery hooves, giving it remarkable grip on rock.
Hunting the Klipspringer
A klipspringer hunt is a true mountain hunt on a miniature scale. Getting within range requires patience, careful glassing and some serious climbing.
For hunters who enjoy challenging terrain and close observation, few small antelope offer a more rewarding experience. Klipspringer is also part of Africa’s tiny ten antelope species.
